The Other Right

The Other Right are husband and wife team Alex Schulkin and Galit Shachaf. Their tagline is 'Fermented With Courage in The Adelaide Hills', and that is exactly what goes into their wines, courage, love, passion and integrity. They are a family unit that work together well, from the picking, pressing, watching, waiting, tasting. They even let their little daughter help pick the name of their Chardonnay, she picked 'Bambi', so Fawn was the compromise.

Although being a scientist for the Australian Wine Research Institute, Alex knows that 'Right' is a subjective concept and there is more than one way of doing something. From this The Other Right came to being in 2012. Their wines are wild and untamed, they add nothing and take nothing away to keep the juice as pure as it can be. This method of winemaking calls for creativity, problem solving and patience. It requires alternative ways of looking at flavours, textures and outcomes.
This is only their third vintage, but The Other Right have firmly make their mark in the wine drinking world, not only in Australia, but also in Japan, England and America. Even though their wines are sought after, this doesn't mean they are serious. There is a sense of fun and frivolity captured in each bottle. The wines are wild and alive, vibrant and bright. They are meant for good times and good company. Fermented with Courage, and poured with love to be drunk with gusto.
