Jauma New Releases
Posted: May 21 2015
James Erskine was one of the first industry folk we met when we moved to South Australia in 2007. Back then he was working as a sommelier at Augè and heading the South Australian chapter of Sommeliers Australia. From the day we met he made us feel welcome in our new home, inviting us to events, tasting and introducing us to what seemed like everyone in SA. He is definitely a man about town, he passionately promotes South Australia and is a strong advocate for natural wines, not to mention a great friend.
James is a soil scientist turned Sommelier who decided to put his hand to winemaking in 2009. He hasn't looked back and nor would we want him to. His focus is on Grenache and Shiraz, and although living in the Hills James gets most of his fruit from Mclaren Vale, Seaview and Blewitt Springs. He works very closely with his growers ensuring that they get the very best out of the fruit so he can keep the winemaking intervention minimal. His wines are opulent and bright.
His Autumn releases are out and we think this is his best vintage yet!
