Gentle Folk Autumn Releases!

Posted: Mar 12 2015

The new batch of Gentle Folk Wines are out and they're just as good if not better than the last releases. We have the pleasure of being good friends with Gareth and his lovely wife Rainbo and two more Gentle Folk you will not find. They treat their friends with love, care, respect, and are extremely giving people. This is the same way they treat their wines.

Last year their Blossoms very deservedly won the Adelaide Review Hottest 100, they also took home the dreamers and believers section for the Pinot and Pinot, not to mention having 5 out of their 6 wines placed in the hottest 100.

This release is suited to Autumn. The whites are textured and oily. The red is light tannic and crunchy. Just what you need for those cooler nights, a good pair of socks, a light braise and a bottle of Gentle Folk Wine. Perfect!

More on the Wines.

Gentle Folk 'Lily White' | Riesling 2014 | Adelaide Hills SA

The Lily White is a pure and delicate expression of Riesling. She's pretty, pristine and beautifully aromatic. Green apples and white flowers in full bloom. She is slightly textured and is seductively oily through the middle. A fantastic dripping acidity and a lingering finish that leaves you reaching for the rest of the bottle.

Gentle Folk 'Field Blend' | Riesling Gewertztraminer Pinot Gris 2014 | Adelaide Hills SA

A deliciously full, rich, and aromatic blend of Riesling, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Viognier and Gewürztraminer. The wine has a strong backbone and a awesome line of acidity that juice drapes itself over. A fantastic oiliness swooshes over your tongue like a long flowing dress but still has the grip and texture of biting into ripe pears. A definite must if you're into musky aromatic wines.

Gentle Folk 'To The Hills' | Sauvignon Blanc Pinot Gris 2014 | Adelaide Hills SA

If this is the Hills, then the hills are where we want to go! This wine is nourishing and juicy and definitely puts a smile on our little faces. It's freshly cut grass and green apples. With a grainy texture and grippy acidity it's not difficult to finish the bottle. Extremely delicious with a beautiful mouthfeel. Amazing with a smelly goats cheese.

Gentle Folk 'Little One' | Petit Verdot 2014 | Adelaide Hills SA

The Little One is a light to medium tannic red with a silky mouthfeel and a crunchy acidity. Bunches of violets  and woody herbs with a light dusting of cinnamon. Beautifully aromatic and fresh with a graphite minerality. This is definitely a Gentle Folk style, the wine is lighter, juicy, tannic but full of flavour!
